We have arrived

Just wanted to let you all know that we have arrived safe and sound. The first flight was tremedously long. We sat on the plane for two hours waiting to take off and several hours into the flight I couldn't sit still anymore. Matt was excited because he watched 4.5 movies and I got up and stood in the back with the crew. We met a really nice crew member from McDonough, GA. She took care of us and served us some cocktails to relax.

We were fed three times on the first flight. We had beef and potatoes around 4, then around 10pm we were given dried noodles in a cup and they brought around hot water, and then at 2am we were served chicken and noodles.

We didnt see much of Tokyo. By the time we got there we had about 30 minutes to board the next flight. The Japanese are prepared for non Japanese speaking people. They hold up signs with pictures on them to help people like us move through the lines.

Tara and Daniel were there waving at the airport. We drove through Naha and realized how much these people like neon lights.

Tara wanted you all to know that I was not aware of my surroundings. First off, they drive on the right hand side of the car. I kept wanting to yell at Matt for not paying attention. He was sitting up front (on the left) chatting the whole time and I kept getting nervous when his hands were in the air. After about 30 minutes I also realized that we were on the wrong side of the road. Wow 4 hours of sleep in two days can do a number on ya.

Tara and Daniel took us to Wendy's Jap style. When they see Americans they turn the menus over so you can point at the picture display. The food was alot better there!!!

PS - ROCK IS IN JAPAN. I tried to get his pic but he ducked out. Maybe next time.

YEAHHHH we are so excited to have Laura and Matt here!!! We have been so excited all week, we got to the airport and I could hardly stand it........ so happy to be having people come visit us! We have all kinds of plans for them while they are here! We are going to go to Ocean Expo park, the Botanical Park, Ruyku Mura, Pinapple Park etc. etc. we can't wait! I can't believe Matta nd Laura are here, what great friends, we are so happy to be able to share our life here in Japan with them! WE just love it here! It is still really hot so we hope to be able to go to Okuma this beautiful beach area on Sat.! OKay we are going to get started on our day, but will write again soon! We are going to take them around base today!
