Day One

Day 1: Monday (October 15th) Konnichiwa! Today we got a late start, but Laura and I made some scrumptious/delicioso pancakes, I think the time difference is catching up to all of us. Hahah including Daniel and I who were not on a plane, but excited to be able to relax for the morning. We went to update Laura and Matt’s base passes at the Visitor Center, and then we were off to lunch. We took them to a restaurant called the Tee House down the street from our house! It is on top of a hill that overlooks the flightline, so we got to see planes take off and land, a bit noisy but definitely worth the view! You can also see the East China Sea and some other places out in town, it was a beautiful day so we took some pictures too!
When we were finished we toured around the base and went to Daniel’s hanger where he works. Then we went out in town to the Kadena Marina. There is a little beach area and lots of neat coral. We went exploring on the coral and down in some caves and found some shells, and again took some more great pictures! Then we headed back to the house where Daniel and Matt fell asleep. Unfortunately Daniel does have to work every morning for a couple hours so he needed a nap too. Laura and I hung out and watched tv, but after a couple hours, we all got hungry and had hotdogs and chips and salsa. We had planned on making a big steak dinner, but it got too late J We went to bed around 12:30pm. Love, Tara
